Crouch Anywhere: Build a Visibility Route Before You Move

Crouch-anywhere movement is most useful when paired with a visibility plan. Before crossing a restricted space, identify what the guards can see, where darkness or cover begins, and where Edward can break the route if the tail or infiltration becomes noisy.

Route decision

Observe → choose cover → cross

Safe first move

Observe the area first, mark one dark or covered break point, and choose whether height, crowd cover, or low movement is the safer line.

Finish line

Edward reaches the next objective or returns to a known cover point without losing the objective tracker or optional condition.

Risk to avoid

Crouching everywhere can slow a route without solving the actual sightline, especially when a rooftop, crowd, or timing window is the safer answer.

Visibility is a route variable. Use the first scan to decide which surface and speed make the next decision reversible.

  1. ObserveMap cones, dark spaces, and the nearest safe break point.
  2. CrossUse crouch only for the covered segment and stop before the next exposure.
  3. ConfirmCheck the objective or optional condition before extending the route.
Choose one route, then confirm each result in your save.

How to use it

Measure the route by sightlines

A useful stealth note has three pieces: what the guard can see, where darkness or cover starts, and where Edward can stop. That note remains useful when the exact patrol timing changes after a failure.

Recovery path

If crouch does not solve the crossing

Return to Observe and choose a different surface. Use Parkour for height, Stealth for cover and timing, and Combat only after the objective state says the route has changed.

Common Questions

Does crouch-anywhere make every crossing safe?

No. It gives you more movement options, but a wide sightline, poor timing, or missing cover can still expose Edward. Observe first.

Should I use rooftops or crouch for stealth?

Use the surface that creates the clearest next break point. Height is often safer for a long sightline; crouch is useful for a short covered gap.

How do I preserve a no-detection optional objective?

Read the exact wording, mark a break point, and verify the result before starting another route. Do not assume an alert is harmless because the main memory continues.
