Kenway's Fleet: Turn Captures Into a Managed Route
Kenway's Fleet is a management decision after the boarding. Keep a captured ship when its class, repair cost, cargo role, and mission fit your current goal; release or repair deliberately when it would consume the resources needed for the Jackdaw. Check the menu result after every dispatch instead of treating the fleet as passive background income.
Route decision
Capture → repair → dispatch
After boarding, record the captured class, damage state, repair need, available slot, and the mission reward you are trying to fund.
The intended ship is in the fleet, repairs and slots are understood, and a mission completes with its trade goods or income visible in the management screen.
Keeping every capture can fill slots and repairs with ships that do not advance the next Jackdaw or route decision.

Decision table
Choose from the situation in front of you
| Situation | Decision | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Captured ship fills an obvious mission role | Keep and repair | The class and reward support the next fleet objective. |
| Repair cost competes with Jackdaw materials | Pause | Fleet income is not useful if it delays the upgrade that opens the next route. |
| No slot or mission fit | Release or defer | A full roster hides the ship that can actually complete the planned mission. |
| Mission completes but rewards look missing | Check menu and save | Separate a display delay or update issue from a bad dispatch decision before repeating it. |
How to use it
Give every capture a job
A useful fleet note has a ship class, a repair cost, and a mission or income purpose. This keeps the roster tied to the next Jackdaw decision instead of turning it into a collection of names.
Recovery path
If a mission result looks wrong
Keep the dispatch details and reopen the menu from a stable state. Check the patch and save before repeating; do not release the ship that produced the ambiguous result until the state is clear.

Common Questions
Which ships should I keep in Kenway's Fleet?
Keep ships that fit a named mission, cargo, or income goal and whose repairs do not delay the Jackdaw lane you need next.
Is Fleet income automatic?
Treat it as a management route: dispatch a suitable ship, let the mission resolve, and confirm the trade goods or income in the menu.
What if the Fleet menu loses a ship or reward?
Record the roster and update state, reopen from a stable port or save, and test one known dispatch before changing the entire fleet.
