Use Matanzas as a two-stop route for the mortar-storage dig and a separate Mayan Stela check.
The island has different clues for a buried plan and a stela puzzle; treating every nearby coordinate as the same objective wastes the landing.
Why this entry is useful
A split-objective island packet with a dig-before-departure decision and an independent stela completion check.
The Resynced mortar-plan lead is behind Matanzas's waterfall near 312, 617, left of the Mayan Stela. The puzzle and chest have separate results; confirm the current markers and reward.
Confirm which job is active: mortar ammunition capacity or Mayan Stone progress. Keep the clue, dig marker, and stela marker as separate map checks.
The relevant chest reward or stela puzzle result is recorded, and the island map shows which objective remains.
What are you trying to do with this entry?
Choose one decision and follow 3 checks in order.
- Check clue ownershipConfirm Treasure Map from Tortuga is in inventory; the clue pickup and Matanzas chest are different legs.
- Use the waterfall markerFollow the sketch to the waterfall-side dig lead near 312, 617, left of the stela; use the live shovel prompt for the exact patch.
- Prove the plan resultCheck Mortar Storage Ultimate Plan by name in the current reward and Jackdaw menu; a nearby stone or Secret is not this proof.
Start with the first check above and keep the confirmed area, marker, or objective beside the next move.

Keep the two major Matanzas routes separate
The Mortar Storage chest depends on Tortuga's treasure clue and ends at the waterfall; the Mayan Stela uses its own pillar marker, left-tree alignment, and stone pickup. Matanzas's west-beach bottle and manor wheel are a third, two-Secret result.
The island marker or result does not match
If the Tortuga clue is missing, do not search the Matanzas waterfall yet. If a chest opens without Mortar Storage Ultimate Plan, check the named reward and Jackdaw menu before repeating the voyage. If the stela count stays short, use the live pillar marker and collect the revealed stone. A west-beach bottle or manor chest cannot close the mortar or stone route.
Separate the buried plan from the stela
- If mortar rounds run out, carry Tortuga's map to the waterfall-side Matanzas dig near 312, 617 and confirm Mortar Storage Ultimate Plan before opening another island marker.
- If Mayan Stone progress is the goal, follow the stela puzzle marker instead of the treasure coordinate and verify the puzzle result.
- Before sailing, read the local completion counters so only the unfinished branch becomes the next route.

The value of a location page is what it helps you group before leaving.
- Search the same place in Collectibles before sailing away.
- Open Treasure Maps if the region connects to a clue, dig point, or buried reward.
- Open Jackdaw Upgrades or Naval if the nearby route involves forts, hard waters, or elite plans.

Common Questions
What should I anchor first at Matanzas?
Start with the 312, 617 anchor for Matanzas, then use the waterfall-side mortar-storage dig and Mayan Stela split and two-stop island packet with separate stela and chest results to identify the correct landing or entry. An island route is easiest to close by grouping shoreline, viewpoint, and inland checks before the next sail.
Which nearby checks belong in the Matanzas route?
Bundle only markers that share this islands approach: the ones attached to Matanzas, the same water heading, or the same access line. Keep 312, 617 as the return point before sailing away.
When is the Matanzas sweep finished?
Leave Matanzas only after the 312, 617 anchor is confirmed, the waterfall-side mortar-storage dig and Mayan Stela split and two-stop island packet with separate stela and chest results access has been tested, and the remaining collectible, treasure, mission, or naval family is written down. A location anchor is not proof that every nearby icon is complete.
