Salt Lagoon transfer chart

Two close shore leads, two different maps

Use the map title as your compass: Abaco's clue ends here at the beach rock; Salt Lagoon's own clue begins here at a skeleton and ends at New Bone. The wreck chest is a third, underwater job.

Abaco map ↓Salt Lagoon ⇢New Bone ↑

  1. 01

    Incoming · Abaco map dig

    Do next

With the Abaco treasure map owned, compare its sketch to Salt Lagoon's tallest beach rock near 719, 607. Search the sand in front for the buried chest.

    Follow the incoming clue
    Result to check

The chest opens and the Serpent Figurehead Design Plan or current named reward appears. Taking a new Salt Lagoon map cannot prove this dig.

If this does not match your save

If there is no dig prompt, check Abaco map ownership and the rock's side of the beach before trying the nearby skeleton. Do not substitute an underwater money chest.

  2. 02

    Outgoing · Salt Lagoon map

    Do next

At the northeast shore near 723, 608, inspect the separate skeleton for Treasure Map from Salt Lagoon. Read the new sketch before committing to New Bone.

    Track the New Bone leg
    Result to check

The Salt Lagoon map appears in inventory. Maize Deity art has not been earned merely by taking this clue.

If this does not match your save

If the skeleton is empty, check whether the Salt Lagoon map is already owned. If the Abaco figurehead is the only new reward, this outbound map remains a different task.

  3. 03

    Destination · New Bone

    Do next

Only after owning the Salt Lagoon map, travel to the small island north of New Bone around 407, 94. Compare the present clue and shoreline before digging.

    Check the art objective
    Result to check

The New Bone chest yields Maize Deity art or the current named reward. This is an outbound treasure result, not Salt Lagoon's local Chest family.

If this does not match your save

If the dig is absent, return to the owned Salt Lagoon sketch and current New Bone island marker. Do not re-open Salt Lagoon's inbound Serpent Figurehead chest.

  4. 04

    Local · shipwreck chest

    Do next

If Salt Lagoon's Chest family remains open, prepare a safe surface return, then inspect the underwater shipwreck for its ordinary money chest.

    Prepare an air-safe dive
    Result to check

The underwater chest opens and its local marker changes. The two shore maps and their buried rewards do not prove this dive was done.

If this does not match your save

If the chest marker remains after a dive, surface, filter to Chest and retry only the live wreck opening. Leave the treasure maps unchanged unless their own named states are missing.

Before you leaveBefore leaving, record three separate states: Serpent Figurehead dug here, Salt Lagoon map owned for New Bone, and wreck chest opened. The later Maize Deity result belongs to the New Bone voyage.

Route Plan

Inbound dig ↔ outbound map ↔ separate wreck

Salt Lagoon is a transfer point between two different treasure maps. The Abaco clue ends at the tallest beach rock near 719, 607 with the Serpent Figurehead. A separate skeleton near 723, 608 gives Salt Lagoon's map for New Bone's northern islet; the offshore wreck has another money chest.

  1. Read the map already in inventory first. If it is the Abaco clue, use the tallest Salt Lagoon beach rock near 719, 607 for the buried Serpent Figurehead chest.
  2. At the northeast shoreline near 723, 608, inspect the separate skeleton for Treasure Map from Salt Lagoon. Its buried Maize Deity art result is on a small northern island by New Bone near 407, 94.
  3. If the island's Chest family is still open, plan an air-safe dive to the offshore shipwreck money chest. Neither shoreline map action proves the underwater chest was opened.

Why 719, 607 and 723, 608 are not duplicates

Why 719, 607 and 723, 608 are not duplicates

The nearby leads represent opposite directions in two treasure chains. Their numbers are route hints, not proof that one pickup automatically covers both.

  • Abaco map already owned → beach-rock dig → Serpent Figurehead checked at Salt Lagoon.
  • Salt Lagoon skeleton map newly owned → northern New Bone islet dig → Maize Deity checked there.
  • Local underwater chest → money and Chest marker only; it is outside both map chains.

Leave with one next waypoint

Leave with one next waypoint

A good Salt Lagoon visit can end with one treasure chain finished and the next merely started. That is not a failed island sweep.

  • If the figurehead is missing, keep Salt Lagoon's beach rock as the only return target and verify the Abaco map.
  • If the map is owned but art is missing, make New Bone the next voyage; do not search Salt Lagoon's shoreline again.
  • If only the local Chest family is open, prepare the wreck dive and do not alter either map route.

Common Questions

Are the two Salt Lagoon shoreline map spots the same treasure?

No. The Abaco map sends you to a buried Serpent Figurehead chest by Salt Lagoon's tallest beach rock near 719, 607. A separate skeleton near 723, 608 gives Treasure Map from Salt Lagoon for a later New Bone dig. Confirm the owned map and named result for each.

Does taking Salt Lagoon's map award Maize Deity art?

No. The map begins the outbound route. Carry its sketch to the small island north of New Bone near 407, 94, find the present dig prompt and check the Maize Deity art reward from the opened chest.

Where is Salt Lagoon's ordinary chest?

The local money chest is in the underwater shipwreck. Prepare a safe surface return and check the active Chest marker; neither shoreline treasure map proves the wreck chest opened.
