Cat Island · left-rock alignment

Anchor the left rock before you scale the pattern

Cat Island's stela answer has an order: place the large circle on the rock to the left, then scale the white-line pattern until it fits. Find the pillar from the current island marker; 707, 666 names the island area, not the pillar's exact position.

  1. Reach the active pillar

    Do this

Open Cat Island's current map and select its Mayan Stela marker. Use 707, 666 only to identify the island region; do not sail to that coordinate expecting it to pinpoint the pillar.

    Look for

You are at the pillar interaction and can see the active white-line puzzle.

    If it does not work

If the regional coordinate does not land on a pillar, return to the map and follow the live stela marker. The source's island anchor is not a stela-specific coordinate.

  2. Set the left-rock anchor

    Do this

From the active pillar puzzle, place the large circle over the rock on the left. Treat this as the first alignment, not a scaling target; hold the circle on that landmark before adjusting the rest of the image.

    Look for

The large circle is aligned with the left rock, leaving pattern scale as the remaining adjustment.

    If it does not work

If the lines refuse to fit, correct the circle-to-rock alignment before continuing to scale. A scale change cannot repair the wrong landmark anchor.

  3. Scale, resolve, collect

    Do this

With the left-rock anchor stable, scale the remaining pattern until the lines fit the visible ground reference. When the puzzle reveals the pickup, leave the view and collect the Mayan Stone.

    Look for

The stone is collected and Cat Island's stela result changes in the current save.

    If it does not work

If the pattern resolves but progress stays unchanged, return to the revealed ground spot and complete its pickup. Do not use a cleared song sheet or another island reward as proof.

Before you leaveLeave the pillar only after collecting the revealed Mayan Stone and checking its stela result in your save. The Rio Grande, Crimson Sails and warehouse money chest can remain on separate lists.

Route Plan

Live marker → left-rock anchor → scale → stone

At Cat Island's stela pillar, first align the large circle with the rock on the left, then scale the pattern until it fits. Collect the revealed Mayan Stone. The 707, 666 coordinate identifies Cat Island, not the pillar's exact position; use the current island marker.

  1. Use the current Cat Island map marker to reach the Mayan Stela; 707, 666 is the island anchor, not a precise pillar coordinate.
  2. From the active pillar puzzle, place the large circle over the rock on the left before changing the pattern scale.
  3. Once the pattern resolves, move to the revealed pickup and collect the Mayan Stone. Check stela progress separately from The Rio Grande, Crimson Sails, and the warehouse money chest.

Landmark Before Scale

Landmark Before Scale

The left rock is the anchor for this specific Cat Island puzzle; scale is the second adjustment, not a substitute for the landmark match.

  • At the pillar interaction, find the rock on the left in the current puzzle view and align the large circle to it.
  • Keep the circle matched while changing the pattern scale to fit the ground lines.
  • If the pattern does not resolve, re-check the anchor first rather than guessing a camera angle or control sequence.

A Solved Pattern Still Needs a Pickup

A Solved Pattern Still Needs a Pickup

Puzzle resolution and collecting the stone are two different completion signals.

  • After the alignment succeeds, move to the revealed spot and collect the Mayan Stone.
  • Check the stela state in the current save before leaving the pillar area.
  • If the counter does not change, revisit the revealed pickup; a changed marker alone is not the stone result.

Keep Cat Island's Other Jobs Separate

Keep Cat Island's Other Jobs Separate

The island map can surface several collectible families during the same landing, but each has its own route and proof.

  • The Rio Grande starts on a tree stump and ends with a named Song Sheet unlock.
  • Crimson Sails is the manor-balcony Secret; the warehouse-adjacent chest is ordinary money.
  • None of those results replaces the pillar puzzle or adds its Mayan Stone.

Common Questions

How do I align Cat Island's Mayan Stela?

At the active pillar puzzle, align the large circle with the rock on the left first. Then scale the pattern until it fits; use the current marker to find the pillar because 707, 666 is only Cat Island's regional anchor.

What if the Cat Island pattern will not fit?

Recheck the left-rock anchor before changing scale. Once the pattern resolves, go to the revealed spot and collect the Mayan Stone; the puzzle result and pickup are separate checks.

Does The Rio Grande or Crimson Sails count as the Mayan Stone?

No. The Rio Grande is the tree-stump Song Sheet, while Crimson Sails is the manor-balcony Secret; the warehouse-side chest is ordinary money. Only the pillar puzzle's revealed Mayan Stone advances the stela route.
