Matanzas · bottle and wheel

Two Secrets, two surfaces: west-beach sand and the manor's second floor

Matanzas has a named letter in a bottle and a named ship wheel in a manor chest. Its watchtower and underwater money chests, Mayan Stela and Tortuga-map waterfall dig can all change other progress without fixing a 1/2 Secret result.

  1. Select the missing name

    Do this

Before entering the manor or diving, compare On Leaving Home and Bronze Wheel in the current collection. Use Matanzas's live Secret pins to choose the west beach if the letter is absent or the manor if the wheel is absent.

    Read the two-result ledger
    Look for

The 1/2 gap is tied to a named Secret rather than a generic chest, stone or buried plan.

    If it does not work

If an old map lists fewer Secrets or calls this a manuscript, trust the present Secret family and the two named rewards; keep conflicting save evidence instead of fabricating a third Secret.

  2. West beach · On Leaving Home

    Do this

Search the west end of Matanzas's beach for the bottle in the sand and read the letter after pickup. The ordinary chest beside the central watchtower and the underwater east-beach chest are not substitutes for this bottle.

    Locate the west-beach pin
    Look for

On Leaving Home is acquired by name and one of Matanzas's Secret results is recorded.

    If it does not work

If the west beach looks clear, check whether the letter was already acquired and compare the current Secret pin. A money reward from the watchtower or east water does not close the letter branch.

  3. Manor second floor · Bronze Wheel

    Do this

Follow the present Secret marker to the manor's second floor and open the correct chest. Observe the current building access before entering; neither the regional guide nor this page proves an exact door or climb route.

    Keep island jobs separate
    Look for

Bronze Wheel appears by name in the wheel or ship-customization collection, then the island's two-Secret state agrees with the letter.

    If it does not work

If the opened chest only gives money, recheck the Secret marker on the second floor. If the wheel is already owned but the counter differs, keep the inventory and patch evidence instead of repeating the waterfall dig.

Before you leaveMatch the named letter, named wheel and Matanzas's two-Secret state. Take the stela or Mortar Storage route only if those independent results are still needed.

Route Plan

West-beach bottle → manor wheel → two-name proof

Matanzas's two reported Secrets are On Leaving Home in a bottle at the west end of the beach and Bronze Wheel in a chest on the manor's second floor. The watchtower and east-water money chests, local Mayan Stela, and separate Tortuga-map waterfall dig have other finish conditions; compare the two named Secret rewards with the current 2/2 state.

  1. Check whether On Leaving Home and Bronze Wheel are already collected, then use the current Matanzas Secret markers to select the west-beach or manor route.
  2. Pick up the bottle on the west end of the beach for the named letter; for the wheel, find the manor's second-floor Secret chest and read its actual reward.
  3. Keep the watchtower/east-water money chests, Mayan Stela and Tortuga-to-Matanzas Mortar Storage dig on separate ledgers. Finish on both named Secret results and the local Secret count.

When a chest opened but the Secret count did not

When a chest opened but the Secret count did not

The island contains ordinary money chests as well as the manor's named wheel Secret. The word chest alone cannot tell you which family changed.

  • Central watchtower money is not the manor's Bronze Wheel chest.
  • The east-beach underwater money chest is not the west-beach letter bottle.
  • Read Bronze Wheel in the wheel collection before deciding the manor Secret is complete.

Separate the waterfall and stone

Separate the waterfall and stone

The Tortuga treasure map leads to a waterfall-side Mortar Storage plan dig at Matanzas, while the Mayan Stela has its own puzzle and stone. Neither closes these two named Secrets.

  • Carry the Tortuga map only if the separate Mortar Storage plan is your goal.
  • Use the stela pillar and revealed stone for Mayan progress, not the letter or wheel.
  • At 1/2 Secrets, return to the missing named bottle or manor reward, not a completed dig.

Common Questions

Where is the On Leaving Home letter on Matanzas?

Look for a bottle in the sand at the west end of Matanzas's beach, then check On Leaving Home by name. The ordinary east-beach underwater chest and central watchtower chest are different pickups.

Which Matanzas chest contains Bronze Wheel?

The current regional guide places Bronze Wheel in a Secret chest on the manor's second floor. Confirm the live Secret marker and the named Common Wheel result rather than treating any opened Matanzas chest as proof.

Does the Matanzas waterfall Mortar Storage dig or Mayan Stela count toward 2/2 Secrets?

No. The Tortuga-map waterfall dig awards a separate Mortar Storage plan, and the Mayan Stela awards stone progress. Matanzas's two named Secrets are the west-beach letter and manor wheel; verify those and the current Secret counter together.
